My Story
I am Aakre Mahan, the founder and owner of Wags on Wheels LLC (W.O.W.). I have two beautiful and amazing daughters who keep me on my toes and that I am beyond blessed to have in my life. For as long as I can remember, my dream was to become a Veterinarian and have a ‘Rescue Animal’ business which entailed myself picking up stray animals in the community, and bringing them into my clinic in efforts to be eligible for adoption.
I had no other plan… That was it!!lol My family and I are pet lovers! Our pets are our family!!! They are our biggest cheerleaders, protectors, and companions. We have always loved, cared, and had the most memorable and exciting moments with our pets that we cherish to this day (Trixie 1 (Doberman), Trixie 2 (Cockerspaniel), Chase (Shitzu), and Frankie (Jack Russell Terrier, on the left)).
That dream was placed on pause after attending Tuskegee University for 2 ½ years majoring in Animal Science. I eventually changed majors and graduated from the University of Montevallo earning a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and became an educator. I continued to further my education by attending the University of West Alabama and acquired two masters in Elementary and in Instructional Leadership.
Throughout the years I had been asked by co-workers, family, neighbors, and friends in assisting them by transporting their pet to either boarding, the groomer, a friend's home, or anywhere!! After 16 years……….. My dream and passion for animals lingered in my thoughts, I couldn’t escape it, until I finally discovered a way to come back to my dream. I may not have become a veterinarian, however I did reinvent how I ‘Rescued’ animals!!! W.O.W.!!

Wags on wheels is a pet transportation service that we offer to fur baby families. W.O.W. subscribers and non-subscribers can schedule one way or round trip pickups/drop-offs for their pets via our website or business phone. W.O.W. genuinely understands the inconveniences that fur baby families endure on a daily basis pertaining to their fur baby needs. Whether it’s getting their pet to the groomer or doggy day care before work, or dropping off your fur baby before a flight, W.O.W. wants to take the stress away by coming to you and your fur baby’s rescue! Let us take care of the rest so you won’t have to stress! W.O.W. understands that our fur babies are our family and ensures that you can trust your baby in our care.
